In this episode, I tackle the endless flood of unsolicited emails from hustlers, scammers, and “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunities the only sensible way possible: like a raccoon with a keyboard and a sense of humor.

Through short stories, exaggerated characters, and a lot of laughter, I break down the ridiculous tactics these emails use, why they keep showing up in our inboxes, and how absurd the whole ecosystem really is when you step back and look at it. Rather than ranting, I turn the annoyance into entertainment—mocking the hustle culture, the fake urgency, and the scams that assume we were born yesterday.

If you’ve ever stared at your inbox, sighed, and wondered how on earth these messages still exist, this episode is a reminder that sometimes the best response isn’t anger—it’s comedy, curiosity, and a well-timed raccoon eye-roll.

What started as a love of storytelling and fantasy worlds grew into a full indie publishing imprint fueled by creativity, persistence, and a healthy dose of raccoon-level curiosity.

 

DJ talks candidly about the realities of indie publishing—writing the book, launching it, navigating marketing, ads, algorithms, and the emotional highs and lows that come with putting your work into the world. The episode blends practical insight with personal reflection, setting the tone for a show that’s as much about the people behind the books as the books themselves.
